Could anyone out there tell me where to begin? What type of dancing I should learn first, I really want to 'WOW' my wife, she has been pushing me to take lessons for years. Any input would be wonderful, thanks.

I suggest calling a local studio. I am biased because I am employed by a large franchised studio so I'm not going to suggest any one in peticular. I think you should ask for rumba or waltz for a slow dance and east coast swing/merenge for a faster dance. You will have to put in a few hours a day every day until your wedding to be able to dance. I don't know if it is a surprise to your fiance that you are learning to dance or not but I highly suggest that you have her take the lessons with you unless you put in the extra time during your lessons to become a really good lead. I don't think you should go get a ballroom dance book because it will only tell you so much and I'm a firm believer in "showing a student a step 3-4 times is worth an hour of talking and all the reading material in the world". Hope this helps. Good luck!
